Put them behind you! So, I know you have heard it said, “Today is the first day of the rest of your life.” That is a cute little saying. Well, this year I celebrated my 21st birthday — yes, AGAIN–LOL! As I continue down life’s road and continue to remember some of my favorite times, I realize I have had some missed opportunities. Well, that stinks. Today IS the first day of the rest of your life. Make it count. Don’t have regrets–today is the day to make that happen!
I have missed opportunities to:
- tell people I love them,
- missed the opportunity to pay it forward by paying the toll of the person behind me in the toll booth line,
- let someone who is behind me at the grocery store have my place in line,
- leave unused coupons next to the product in the store,
- smile to others,
- set my phone alarm to go off at different times during the day to remind me to do something or say something kind for/to someone else,
- offer to babysit for free to someone who may need a night out,
- write a kind note to someone,
- thank others, and/or
- email or write to a teacher who made a difference.
Now I know you would like to chime in on this so PLEASE leave a comment on this post as to what random acts of kindness you have done OR hope to do in the near future! This world is a crazy place these days as evidenced, once again, by these senseless killings that are going on in our nation. I hope to spread love through random acts of kindness. Let’s do what we can to make a difference in this world!
When was the last time you watched Pay it Forward (click here to order your copy) starring Kevin Spacey and Helen Hunt? The Young Reader’s Book Edition can be found here–great for middle schoolers! These make great Christmas gifts!
Speaking of kindness and Christmas–need some ideas? For Kitty (my grandmother who did not like to be referred to as “grandmother”), I used to give self-made-coupon gifts at Christmas. A little “coupon” redeemable for taking her grocery shopping every week for the entire year. You could also do this for your special someone–a coupon to spend time together with those you love. It could be for once a week, once a month, or 4 times a year–whatever works best for you.
That reminds me of my post about Serve–How Can We Serve? However, what I would really like to talk about is about our biggest gift to others. That is our time. Let’s make some time to “hang out” with those special people in our life. Fun times–let’s have a game night!
Which deck of My Inspiration Cards will be best for you and your game night? Well, there are 10 decks in all. Actually a couple of these decks are just about sold out, but no worries, we can get you hooked up with whichever deck you would like. Here are just 6 of the 10 options. Click on my web store to see all 10 decks!
Let’s spend some inexpensive fun with our family/friends–those who we love. Give the gift of your time. Spend Friday nights with a pizza, a deck of cards, and those dear to you! Have some fun playing your favorite card game and making wonderful memories! You may also want to get some decks to use for stocking stuffers this year!
October 2015 SPECIAL! For every 4 decks you purchase, you will receive ONE FREE DECK! just specify the deck you would like for free in the comments section at checkout or feel free to send me an email! Christmas is around the corner and I am getting in the spirit!
There are 4 other decks so be sure to go to my web store to check them out! My next post is going to include some card game rules. Please let me know if you have one in particular that you would like to see here!
