I have asked myself that a lot lately. Why did He awaken me one morning with this card thing on my heart? Read more on my About page. Why me?
I keep hearing the Matthew West song, “Do Something“ over and over–in my head and on the radio. I tear up every time the song gets to this part: “God why don’t you do something?” He said, “I did, I created you.” Ugh! What can I do?
Well, My Inspiration Cards will certainly not end poverty or anything as monumental as that but these cards just might make a difference in someone’s life. Perhaps by providing hope and inspiration to someone going through chemo, someone going through a divorce, someone struggling with their faith, someone just having a bad day; OR, on the other hand, these cards could just provide a fun Friday night activity with friends and family. They can make a difference–it is up to us to spread His love through His word however we can. We need to make a difference–and ask ourselves–“if not me then who?” Then, we need to decide how. How can each of us make a difference in someone’s life? Did you notice that the words who and how have the same three letters?
The song goes on to say:
If not us, then who
If not me and you
Right now, it’s time for us to do something
If not now, then when
Will we see an end
To all this pain
It’s not enough to do nothing
It’s time for us to do something
So, are we really the hands and feet of God? I want to be. Each day we have an opportunity to help someone. I try to listen, really listen, because I know that He has a plan for me and He has a plan for you too. He will reveal His plan for each of us.
“Why me” is what I ask myself. I am too insecure to be a salesperson so I am trying to let go and let God. After all, this was His idea! I am trying to stop worrying. I am trying to stop asking, “why me,” and start asking “why not me?” You know–like we used to ask ourselves when they were picking teams in gym class–why not me? (I was never picked first. Kind of hurtful!) I am going to start asking myself, “why not me?” Let’s start making a difference–Do Something nice for someone today!
Galatians 6:9 tells us this, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Again, it is said in 2 Thessalonians 3:13, “And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.” Please find more such verses and share right here on this blog!
